HAPPY NEW YEARS 2015

From My Family to Yours, I want to wish you all a HAPPY NEW YEAR!! Be happy of what may come for you in 2015. A lot more posts for 2015! I can't wait!!

ENJOY THE DAY!!

Cheers to The New Year,

My Top 5 Favorite Albums of 2014

A lot of good music came out for 2015, albums that I just had to buy because it was worth the money or I brought the album off iTunes because it was worth it.

Here are my Top 5 Favorite Albums for 2014

5.
Meghan Trainor - Title

"All About The Bass" is my ultimate "Go To" song. I seriously feel in love with that song and the album. I can't wait to see what else she puts out.

4.
Sam Smith - In The Lonely Hour

First of all, I'm absolutely in LOVE with his voice! When my sister showed me is rendition of Whitney Houston's How Will I Know, I was immediately in love! His album is so good. If you haven't heard it, I don't know what you was waiting for.

3.
 Jhene Aiko - Souled Out

This album literally spoke to me. I don't know how she does it but this is an amazing album I just had to buy off iTunes. Her EP "Sail Out" was another amazing album the music, the song it just came out at me, Not a lot of songs can do that to me.

2.
Beyonce - Beyonce: More

Of course, I was those people last year who was shocked when Beyonce came out of nowhere and dropped this album!! Ain't no one can do it like Queen Bey!! She did that! Now when she came out with this EP of more songs, I was already sold!! Give an applause to the fabulous Beyonce!!

1.
Taylor Swift - 1989

I haven't brought a physical album since Nicki Minaj's Pink Friday and Rihanna's Loud album so when I brought 1989 from Amazon and I got a free download of the digital copy of the album, That whole album was amazing!! Nothing like her previous albums (and not saying I didn't like her previous albums because I did...I'm a definite Taylor Swift fan.) This album was more of her growing up and having fun which I absolutely love. I just couldn't pass up not getting her album and seriously, I've had it on repeat!

I just had to end the year, with my favorite albums because they were all amazing albums. I can't wait to see how the music for 2015 will be but I will be listening.

Happy Listening,

My New Years Resolutions for 2015

Happy New Years Eve,
Eight more hours until we say goodbye to 2014, and hello how you doing to 2015. We all have New Years Resolutions, something we have and we do or do not stick to or the very clique "New Year New Me" bit which I HATE!! I'm sorry no one changes once a New Year starts, it just doesn't happen like that.
Even though people have resolutions that are near to impossible to keep, I have resolutions that I hope to stick and possibly come true for the 2015.

Here are my Resolutions:
1. To be more patient. I feel I don't have enough patience and I really need to have more patience in my life.
2. To be a bette Me...cherish those around me..the positive people in my life. Don't let negativity cloud me.
3. To live life to the fullest because life is such a precious thing and we only have one life to live...we might as well live it up and celebrate life. (This one is dedicated to the people I lost in my life...I just recently lost my other aunt and I know that life will pass you if you don't have nothing to show for it and I want to do more in my life. I want to be remembered and I want to enjoy life while I'm still here.)
4. To find someone who cares and respects me. Someone who is not negative and don't know what they want out of life. I want a positive man in my life, who will treat me like the goddess that I am because I just won't settle for less. I want that special man in my life.
5. I want to be more focus on getting to the promise land, finally graduating from college and finally going for my Masters. I want to know that I never gave up in what I wanted to do in my life...you have to go through bumpy roads before you head through some clear roads.
6. I want to be more proactive in the home...right now I'm not working but helping out in the house is close to working until I get a permanent job. I feel like I don't do much in the home I should really do. Just helping my mom when she need it because she ain't getting any younger.
7. To find a permanent job. The job market in New York City is crazy and honestly I don't know why I'm hoping that I will find a job preferable somewhere in the field of what I went to college for or similar to what I do.
8. Not having negative people in my life because I dealt with a lot of negativity in my life and honestly I don't want negative people in my life. I don't want anyone killing my vibe. Im a positive person and I want to stay like that.
9. Getting my closer with God, I feel like we are close but we ain't close enough I really don't to be on a one on one level with Him.
10. To have the BEST 2015 EVER!! My birthday is in 57 days...I'm turning 27!! I can't wait! I want to see what 2015 will bring to me and those close to me!!

Those are my resolutions for 2015. I hope you all have made your resolutions for the New Year and I hope you stick to them, I know I will...I hope! lol!

I hope everyone have fun and be safe for the New Year and don't drink and drive and don't get into a care with a drunk person. Be cautious and be safe. Don't start the New Year on a bad note.

Cheers to The New Year,

YouTube...What Videos Should I Do??

Happy Saturday Everyone,

As most of you know, I recently started a new YouTube channel called "Being Selene". It's a more grown up channel from my original channel "LiTtLeMiZzDiVa" and yes it was spelled exactly like that too. I made my first channel when I was in my freshmen year of high school and I stop making videos after my sophomore year of college. Of course I do know of the basic videos everyone does like Makeup Tutorials, DIYs, etc. but I want to start with something different.
2015 I will be making more videos for my YouTube Channel but I don't know what video I should do. I already did a "What's on my iPhone 5c" video but I want to do something else, something to start the New Year right.
So I would love to hear from you guys my blogger family...if you have a YouTube channel please list them below, I love to subscribe to new and fun channels.
The question is: What type of YouTube videos should I do for the upcoming year??

Also subscribe to my YouTube channel also: Being Selene's YouTube Channel check out some of my past videos.

Thanks in Advance,

What I Got For Christmas 2014

Merry Late Christmas Everyone, I know I haven't been writing anything because of school and a crazy amount of schoolwork and sorority stuff. I just had to take a little break from blogging until school finished. I hope everyone had a great Christmas and I hope everyone got what they wanted to for Christmas.
This Christmas, I was able to get my ultimate Christmas gift before Christmas came around. I had to get it earlier because it's was such a hot gift but also an expensive investment to be honest.
1. MacBook Pro
I brought my MacBook Pro in November and I can honestly say that its the best investment I ever brought for myself. I brought it from BestBuy and also with the Student Discount was a real lifesaver. College really give you a lot of perks. Before I brought the laptop, I did buy some cases for them because I needed it but I was very happy to get it. I really love this MacBook.

Another gift I got for Christmas actually came from by Big from my Sorority. We had a Secret Santa two weeks ago and my Big is absolutely amazing. It smells so amazing and honestly it makes your skin sooo smooth.
2.   Shea Moisture Foaming Milk and Body Wash
Of course, I had to try it and all I can say is it smells like Heaven in a bottle. It makes your skin so smooth and nice, you just feel like touching your skin all the time. You can also use it as a bubble bath too, the coconut and hibiscus scent is so fabulous a total must have.
Another gift my Big gave me which she knows I have a crazy sweet tooth.
3.Confetteria Raffaello Almond Coconut Treat
I haven't tried it yet but I will try it soon just to see how it taste because I'm not really a big fan of coconut but I'll try it out.
From my sorority's Secret Santa, my Secret Santa actually got me three things that I had from my wishlist that I really wanted to get and she got it for me which I really love. She only gave me one of the three gift because the other two was back ordered so do have to get my other two gifts but I already know what it is so I can show you what it is.
4. Vera Wang Princess
I been meaning to get a new bottle of this perfume because I just love the scent. It smells so beautiful. I was so happy when I got this for Christmas of course I had to put some on for my family's Christmas party. It's one of my favorite scents.
The other two gifts from my Secret Santa was:
5. Sanrio Hello Kitty Throw and Pillow Set
 6. Greek on DVD
Something that I wanted and I'll be so happy when I get. Can't wait!!

From my dad, he brought me a new controller for my PlayStation 3 because my other two controller are very messed up I needed a brand new controller and I was so happy when my dad got it for me,
7. PlayStation 3 Controller (Blue)
He also brought me a video game! I'm obsessed with fighting game...seriously it's a real addiction!! lol!
8. Tekken Tag Tournament 2
I love the Tekken series so I was happy to finally get this game because the actual game I do want dont come out until next April so I needed a new game.

And last but not least, The best gift that keeps on giving everyone has it but there's nothing wrong with getting this for Christmas...

9. MONEY!!!
Both my parents gave me money for Christmas and honestly I never turned down some cash for Christmas. It's better to get money because you can do whatever you want with that money which is what I'm going to do.

Disclaimer: I'm trying to brag or anything I'm extremely blessed to get the gifts that I got for Christmas.

I hope everyone got what they wished for and I hope everyone had a great Christmas with your family.

What did you get for Christmas??

Happy Holiday,

Christmas Wish List 2014

Christmas Wishlist 2014
As you all know the holiday season is finally here and of course, it's that time of the year where I show my Christmas Wishlist (Things I hope to get and even suggestions that you can give to yourself or a siblings.) These are the gifts I really wanted and hope to get this year. I actually just brought a pair of Ugg Boots but the navy blue Ugg is such a classic look. I just brought my first pair of Jeffery Campbell Litas in Velvet Black and I'm tempted to buying them in Taupe because that color goes with everything. Tommy Hilfiger is such a classic company whether it's clothes or bedding. I just brought a beautiful bedding from Tommy Hilfiger and I'm so tempted to buy anyone because they are just so comfy.
I finally brought myself a black Longchamp bag!! (Yay!!) One of the best investment I ever brought for myself. It's heavy duty and so reliable. I really hope I can invested in another Longchamp bag. The Canon Eos Ti5 is such an amazing camera but extremely expensive camera but I hope I can get this for christmas  (wink wink parents!! lol!!) The PlayStation 4, I've always been a gamer girl but when the PS4 came out, I wasn't that hype to get it because my PS3 was doing the job just fine. But now, It's time for a change of scenery and a PS4 is the way to go. Though some of the games that I want for the PS4 isn't out yet, there's nothing wrong with getting a new gaming system.

I hope you enjoy my Wishlist and hopefully it gives you some ideas on getting gifts for family and friends.

What is on your Wishlist? What are you excited about this holiday season?

XOXO,

College Girl Inc.: What to Choose? MacBook Pro or MacBook Air

I'm so excited to finally get a new laptop and not just any laptop but a MacBook. I've always wanted a Mac laptop but my parents wouldn't spend $1000 for a laptop, that have more important things that they need, which I don't blame them. I brought my first two laptop on my own and I'm happy to finally get a new laptop. My older laptop, which is a HP Privillion, is a good laptop but it's been slowing like crazy and giving me problems, so I finally made the executive decision to buy myself a brand new laptop and I'm happy to be getting a new one.
The only problem is I cannot choose between the MacBook Pro or MacBook Air they are both cute and usable. So I'm coming to you all, my readers, if you have either a MacBook Pro or Air which one is the better choice, I have I eyes set on one Macbook and I won't share which one until I get my laptop next week, when you finally see which one I pick.
I want to hear your views about these two, if you own either of them. Trust me, your honest opinion will really help me for when I choose my laptop.

I can't wait to read your views on the MacBook Pro and Air.

Happy Fall,

Last Night's Premiere: American Horror Story: Freak Show (Season 4)

I'm not going to lie I didn't watch the first two seasons, but I got drawn in on Season 3 (AHS: Coven) but last night's episode, was a brief look at what's to come for the 4th season. Ryan Murphy, you have done it again with AHS: Freak Show! Of course, I'm not going to spoil the first episode for those who haven't seen it but all I can say is, you have drawn my attention for season 4.
The setting for this season of American Horror Story is in Jupiter, Florida in the 1950s. Elsa Mars (Played by Jessica Lange) runs one of the few remaining freak shows and they are basically trying to do anything to keep the show alive. The season focuses on the conflict between the freaks and the "evil forces" who do not understand them. Of course this season some of cast from previous season are also be in this season like Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters and Emma Roberts just to name a few. More past cast members will also be showing up but you just have to tune in and watch.
The first episode was intense (that's all I'm really going to say about that) also there is a killer on our mist in this season, not gonna say who or what it is but all I can say prepare to be scared out of your mind (lol.).
Now if you want to get hooked on to AHS, it comes on Wednesdays 10pm EST on FX, if you want to be scared for the Halloween season, this is the show to watch.
What is your thoughts on American Horror Story?

PGTC Book Review: Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? (And Other Concerns) By Mindy Kaling

I've always been a fan a Mindy Kaling since The Office and when she came out with a book, I just had to have it. I was excited when Birchbloggers gave me the opportunity to get to read this book and give my honest opinion on what I though.
I read the book while I was on my vacation and I finished the book before I came back to New York, which is good because I usually take a while to read a book (most likely if the book is dragging and going absolutely nowhere....I tend to get annoyed and lose interest) but that didn't happened with Mindy Kaling's book. Her book is a mini memoir of her life as a chubby little kid and how she found her bliss in comedy. She is so funny and I love the introduction to the book, where she is talking about her love for Tina Fey and the different names she was coming up with when she was writing this book. She is a natural born comedian, and in her book, she doesn't fake the funk for anyone and that's what I love about Mindy Kaling.
We all through different fazes in our life, and Kaling talks about all of that in her book. I really enjoy reading this book, had me laughing for days, which is a good thing. I do plan on reading this book again, because it was just that good. If you are looking for a funny book with cleaver antidotes and life situation, This book is the one for you.
I want to thank Birchbloggers for sending me this book to review, I couldn't put it down. Those who are interested in buying the book, check local bookstores or amazon.com.

XOXO,

PGTC Review: eShakti: Beautiful, Classic, Unique

I have been a big fan of the company, so when they gave me the opportunity to try one of their beautiful dresses, I couldn't help and give my 100% true review on the dress. One thing I like about eShakti is that you don't have to get the dress the way that it's display on the website. You can actually customize the dress to fit however you want the dress to look like. You can change the neckline, the length of the dress and even if you want the dress to come with a pocket or not, the possibilities are endless on making the dress as unique as you are.
Since I was going on a cruise for my cousin's wedding, I had the great chance to wear the dress for the wedding. When I wore this dress, I immediately fell in love with it because of the beautiful detailing on the dress. Even though, this dress was a sample dress it fit me perfectly, I was very pleased. I did get a lot of comments on the dress, usually because I always wear pink and this was really a change of scenery for me and I really loved it. My favorite part of this dress was the pocket, I just that the dress came with pockets in them. I was able to hold my phone, camera and my room key in the pocket, it was extremely durable and didn't give me any problems.
With this dress, I kept the accessories to a minimum because I didn't want to over accessorize the dress. I wore my Betsey Johnson Boyfriend Watch, My monogrammed necklace and Bow ring. The black heels added a little elegant touch to such a beautiful dress, very classy. My mom was so in love with my dress that she actually buying a dress from eShakti for her niece's wedding in November.
Would I buy a dress from eShakti? Of course, I'm actually looking for a dress for my aunt & uncle's wedding next year and that's the first place I'm looking and I would definitely recommend this website to anyone who wants to have a unique dress, this is the place for you.
I want to thank Jane from eShakti for giving me the opportunity to wear a beautiful dress. If you are looking for beautiful dresses, whether it's for a party, wedding or just a nice dress just to wear, check out eShakti: http://www.eShakti.com

XOXO,
Disclaimer: I was not paid to give a good review, I was asked to give my 100% honest opinion on the dress and the website.

PGTC Book Review: Confessions of a Sucker for Love

Now I'm not one to read about relationships, but this book really spoke to me. Confessions of a Sucker for Love By Stanley Fritz (Friend of mines) speaks about trying to find that perfect girl. Reading this book made me think about my past experiences that I had in my life when it came to the boys I dated, it's an eye opener and a real page turner. We have all been there one time in our lives, thinking we find the right person and that fairytale became a really bad nightmare.
There was a particular story in the book (not gonna spoil it for you guys) That author speaks about one of his ex girlfriend in high school and the things she did....im not gonna tell you what happened you just have to read the book. Certain stories are based on true stories and some pieces are works of fiction but it really does keeps you interested and wanted more.
Confessions is the type of book that would have you think of the men or woman you've dated and make your second guess why you are no longer with them because that how I was thinking when I was reading it. I just couldn't put it down, a must read book.

Interested in reading Confession of a Sucker for Love?

I hope you all enjoy the book and when you do read please comment below on your thoughts on the book.

Happy Readings,

Disclaimer: This book review was a 100% personal opinion about the author's book, I'm not sponsor to write a good review. This is my HONEST opinion.

Looking for the Perfect Shade of Foundation...My personal struggle!

When it comes to finding the right shade for your skin, it can really be a hassle...trust me I know. I never know what my actual skin color is and I end up picking a shade too light or too dark and I'm all over the place trying to find that right shade. Today, my prayers were finally answered. I was at the Duane Reade in the Manhattan, looking for the shade I need, MY shade. There were Beauty Advisors who were extremely helpful and helping my find the shade that I needed.

No. 7 Protect and Perfect Foundation, SPF 15, Mocha.

She was telling me about a particular brand called No. 7 which is an England brand that is only sold in Walgreen's and Duane Reade. This is the first time I ever heard of this brand because it wasn't the typical brand that I'm use to using but I'm always up for using a new product to find that right shade. What she is used a machine called a "Shade Matcher" (Don't quote me, the name of it might be wrong.) Where they put the machine towards your face and find that shade that matches your skin tone. It actually work, they found my shade and I'm a Mocha (YAY!!) shade. She then showed me how the shade looked on my face and when she did that, It actually blended in with my skin tone I was so happy.

In my head, I was jumping for joy because I can finally put a name to my skin color, I was so close to buy it because it was $14.99 which is a very good price for high quality drugstore makeup but I didn't really have enough to get it but I do plan on buying it for my cruise next week. This was a true life saver moment for my face because I had such a hard time looking all over the place just to find a foundation that's even remotely close to my skin tone and I finally found it!! I do plan on buying it very soon and I hope to try more make up products from No 7.

Have you ever had that problem where finding the right shade of foundation isn't the best one but when you find that right shade, you are on cloud 9?? I know I am!! They even gave me a little sample for myself so I can remember the shade when I get it which was nice of them to do for me. The sliver lining was finally found and I have my perfect foundation that I can't wait to buy.  If you want to check out any No7 Products, Check out: http://www.walgreens.com/q/boots-no-7 Maybe you can find your perfect shade.

Guest Blog Post from A Greek Concept: How to Plan a Memorable, Budget-Friendly Trip with Your Sorority Sisters

I haven't done a guest post in a while and I was happy to be contact by Adrienne St. Laurent from A Greek Concept on how to plan a trip with your sorority sisters on a budget. Something that I'm actually planning with my sorority sisters soon and I can't wait but this can also work for you and your sisters also. If your also interested in doing a guest post, don't hesitate to contact me. Enjoy.

How to Plan a Memorable, Budget-Friendly Trip with Your Sorority Sisters

Taking trips together is one of the most fun ways to get to know your Sorority sisters super well! Whether it’s just a few of you gallivanting around together, or it’s a whole slew of girls from your sorority, trips build memories that help strengthen bonds to a whole new level! Don’t go through college without jetting off somewhere with your closest gal-pals – you’d regret it! So grab your bags and get planning!

That being said, there is a lot to consider in how to plan a memorable, budget-friendly trip with your sorority sisters. Prepping for a major extravaganza can cause tensions to rise and opinions to be voiced louder than normal. You’ll need to make sure a couple of things are in order before you plan the details – otherwise you’re asking for a major disaster.

       Things to Consider
As you’re tossing around the idea of where to go/what to do, make sure you consider the following:
        Someplace close
Look for Livingsocial deals / Groupons
        Driving instead of flying
        Family-owned vacation homes
If you wait ‘til the last minute to discuss these options, it can cause some major kinks in budgeting. When it comes to places close around you [like the Michigan Dunes if you’re going to school in a surrounding state], add the costs of gas + rental place + meals and weigh that against an all-inclusive cruise. Chances are you will save by going someplace more local. If you choose to go somewhere more domestic, toss out the question of whether you should drive or fly. Although either creates memories, traveling in a car/s gives you ample opportunity to get to know your sisters.

These sites offer FANTASTIC trips for nearly half the cost of what the vacay would normally cost [they even have places like Europe and the Caribbean!]. Your parents or relatives might even be able to help out if they have a vacation home somewhere exotic [or even in the mountains]!

Things to Plan
Cutting back on expenses once you’ve decided where to go doesn’t have to squash your memory-making! The simplest way to save some bucks is to stick to the plan. It’s mega tempting to keep adding and expanding the holiday, but it only adds cost to whatever fabulous ideas you already have.

Using your parents’ miles/points massively cuts costs! Maybe your dad/mom is a big traveler and racks up points like nobody’s business – why ask for some of them for your trip as a birthday or Christmas gift! You might be surprised by their response.

We also suggest saving on meals while you’re there by opting for a few nights of cooking in!

The plus of this = cooking together helps you make memories you’ll be reminiscing for years to come.

Every night of the trip doesn’t need to be wild – wild also adds up! So, kick back and relax instead with a Hunger Games movie marathon or another of the classics.

You can rent these from your local library at home and take with you to help cut back on additional day costs from RedBox.

Happy vacation planning!

Day 1: Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Wedding Day!)

As you already know (or if you didn't know) I'm going on a cruise for my cousin's wedding and to celebrate my dad, my aunt and my uncle's birthday NEXT MONTH!! So it's coming down to the wire to look for some last minute things for the cruise, especially a dress for the wedding that will be at Half Moon Cay, The Bahamas. I'm looking for something pretty but also something that will go with the nice weather but also more of a formal wear look for the summer.
These are just dress ideas for what I'm looking for when it comes to the dress I want to get. These dresses are under $100 (which is my dress limit) and pretty plus I love the color scheme very summery and flowy. I love to show a lot of skin but not too much skin, so more of a strapless or a spaghetti straps type dress is what I was looking for. These dresses fit what I was looking for.
I'm even trying to look for a dress similar to my white dress from the last cruise I was on.
If I can get a dress similar to this then I would be very happy!! :)
We will see what happened...there's 37 days left until im in sunny Miami boarding The Carnival Conquest. I can't wait, the excitement is killing me!!!

XOXO,
